Flying Saucer Exercise Wheel Assembly and Installation

Wheel installation involves attaching the wheel stand to the cage wall using the 3 U-bolt assemblies.   Place the wheel and stand in the cage.  Position the wheel so there are at least 2 inches clearance on all sides of the wheel (left, right and front edge).  Place the U bolts in 3 positions along the wheel stand (see picture below), insert the 'legs' of each U-bolt through the cage wall, place the steel plates and nuts on the U-bolt legs and firmly tighten.  The picture below shows ideal U-bolt positions. Be sure to attach the wheel to the stand and install the dust cap before attaching the stand to the cage wall.

To assemble the wheel, place the wheel stand on a flat surface. Loosen the collar set screws with the hex wrench. Place one collar on wheel stand shaft. Then slide the wheel onto the shaft.

Place second (upper) collar on the shaft. Tighten upper collar so the end of the shaft is flush with the collar surface.  If the shaft extends through the collar, it will scrape against the dust cap causing a scraping noise when the wheel is used.

Next, firmly press the lower collar up against the wheel so the wheel presses against the upper collar. See picture below: the green arrow shows direction you push the collar.  Once wheel is snug against the upper collar, tighten the lower collar set screw with the black hex wrench.

Dust Cap installation:  Place some tacky or Elmer's type white glue on the underside of the dust cap. See picture below.  The screws hold the dust cap in place. The glue serves as a sealant.

Screw dust cap to center of wheel using a Phillips screwdriver.  Wheel assembly is now complete.
